Regular hedge cutting prevents fast growing hedges becoming overgrown and neglected – in addition, annual trimming of re-growth maintains and creates healthy hedge rows. Maintenance trimming is usually carried out once a year for informal hedges and twice a year for formal hedges.

A popular form of hedging is the Leylandii, if maintained correctly they form an attractive secure boundary. There are however problems with the species as they are extremely fast growing. This means that if they are not regularly managed they take over gardens and can cause problems with neighbours. Our solution to this is regular trimming which we can provide at reasonable costs.

New hedges require formative pruning for their first couple of years after planting. Formative pruning is usually carried out in winter or spring.
